Cleaning sneakers: the ultimate tips

Sneakers are truly my guilty pleasure. I often find myself buying a new pair, eager to show them off to everyone outside. But you can bet that they get dirty in no time. However, with my step-by-step plathey'll be fresh again in a snap!

Tip from Morris:

If there are no smudges or stains on your shoes, you can clean them after brushing by wiping them with a soft microfibre cloth.

Let's get started

Step 1: Remove the heavy dirt with a brush

Use a shoe brush with soft bristles or an old toothbrush. If you have muddy sneakers, let them dry first. Then, easily brush the dirt away.

Step 2: Erase the stains with the Wonder Sponge

Now comes the magical trick: dampen a corner of the Wonder Sponge slightly. Use this corner to literally erase all discolorations and stains! I'm always amazed at how easy it is

Tip: Test the sponge first

First, test the Wonder Sponge on an inconspicuous spot to see if your sneakers can handle its power. If the colour of your sneakers doesn't transfer onto the sponge, you can continue cleaning. And bonus tip: the sponge may crumble a bit while cleaning. Don't worry, it's completely normal

.

Step 3: Clean the laces and insoles

Clean the laces and insoles with a mixture of warm water and a bit of mild laundry detergent or dish soap. Wash the laces by soaking them in the mixture, kneading them well, and then rinsing them with clean water. Remove the insoles from your shoes and clean them with a microfibre cloth and the mild mixture. Let everything dry thoroughly before putting them back in your shoes!
